The Ingham County Jail is at 630 North Cedar Street in Mason. The justice complex next door at 640 North Cedar handles court functions. Call 517-676-2431 and press option 2 for general inmate information. Captain Robert Earlet heads the corrections division. The facility moved into a new building in early 2023. It can hold just over 400 inmates, making it one of the larger county jails in the region.
The jail lobby is open from the Cedar Street side. Take Exit 66 off US 127 to get there. Lobby hours are Monday through Thursday from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM and Friday from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Professional visiting hours run Monday through Friday in three blocks: 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM, 11:30 AM to 4:00 PM, and 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM.

You can request 24 hour booking records from Ingham County under Michigan's FOIA law at MCL 15.231. Submit your request to the Ingham County Sheriff's Office. Include the person's name, date range, and any booking or inmate numbers. Put the request in writing.
The county has 5 business days to respond. Complex requests can take up to 10 more days. Fees apply for copies at about $0.10 per page. The first $20 is waived for people who get public assistance or cannot pay. You can use this waiver twice a year.
